정현(170위·제네시스 후원)이 29일(현지시간) 미국 뉴욕에서 열린 시즌 마지막 메이저 대회 US오픈 남자 단식 2회전에서 페르난도 베르다스코(34위·스페인)에게 3-2(1-6 2-6 7-5 6-3 7-6<7-3>) 극적인 역전승을 거뒀다.
정현은 이틀 뒤 라파엘 나달(2위·스페인)과 한판 승부를 벌인다.
